A traditional centre of learning where students are initiated into Sanskrit, the Vedas, Madhva shastras, and the sacred discipline of pooja paddathi — under the guidance of the Math.
The Jeevottam Vidyapeetham is the Math's dedicated initiative for traditional learning — a structured programme through which young students and devotees acquire the foundations of Sanskrit, Vedic knowledge, Madhva shastras, and pooja paddathi in the living tradition of the Partagali lineage.
Rooted in the centuries-old practice of the shishya varga, the Vidyapeeth carries forward the conviction that vidya is not mere information, but a sacred inheritance — to be received with humility, practised with discipline, and passed on with devotion.
Since inception, Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math has been a distinguished centre of Vedic learning through the traditional Gurukul system. All the revered pontiffs of the Math have played significant role in propagating the sacred Dvaita philosophy of Jagadguru Shreeman Madvacharya.
In 1953, P.P. Shreemad Dwarakanath Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, the 22nd Pontiff, established the Shreemad Indirakant Teerth Sanskrit Pathashala at Vyasashram Dicholi Shakha Math in Goa and later shifted to Venkatapur Shakha Math in Karnatak. In 1972, P.P. Shreemad Vidyadhiraj Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, the 23rd Pontiff, relocated the Pathshala to Partagali Kendramath and renamed it as Jeevottam Vaidik Sanskrit Pathashala which benefitted over 500 students.
With renewed interest in Vaidik education, the promotion of Sanskrit knowledge and research on ancient manuscripts, the present 24th Pontiff, P.P. Shreemad Vidyadheesh Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji have revived the noble initiative as Jeevottam Vidyapeetham which is set to commence from Jyeshtha Shuddha Dashami, 24th of June 2026. This Vidyapeeth will function in accordance with Vaishnava tradition, dedicated to the preservation and propagation of Vedic knowledge, Sanskrit language and traditional scriptural learning. The main objective is to guide society and help at local level for all doubts, confusion and its resolution under the guidance of revered Swamiji.
