In earlier times, one had to cross the Kali river via Karwar while traveling south from Goa. During the period of P.P. Shreemad Indirakant Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, they used to stay at the residence of Ramachandra Haldipurkar during their travels in Karwar. After the passing of Ramachandra Haldipurkar, their wife donated their plot in Karwar and their coconut plantation in Haldipur to the Partagali Math. In this plot in Karwar, the Math was built and the stone idol of Shree Muralidhar Krishna was installed on Vaishakh Poornima in 1923. Major renovations, including the Ashtabandha ceremony, were performed by P.P. Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji in 1978 during the 55th Vardhanti. The Shree Indirakant Sabhagraha was inaugurated by P.P. Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji on July 10, 2001.
