Manki is a small village located 4 km from Honavar. Historically, crossing the Sharavati river to reach Honavar was a significant challenge for the local community. Recognizing the need for a religious and social center, the community elders requested that this temple become a branch of the Gokarna Partagali Math. On February 11, 1946 (Shaka 1867, Magha Shukla Dashami), the archaka family handed over the Shree Laxmi Venkatesh Temple along with its land and buildings to P.P. Shreemad Dwarakanatha Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji. Under the subsequent leadership of P.P. Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, a committee was formed to acquire more land and build a spacious Math. The foundation stone was laid on May 24, 1981, and the new Math premises were inaugurated on June 1, 1983. In 1998, a new structure was completed specifically to host the Chaturmaas observation of P.P. Swamiji.
